Winter officially began today, which means we’re in for some colder weather in Northern Virginia! With that cold weather usually comes some lack of motivation to tackle your home improvement projects. But, we’re here to help! We’ve come up with a list of activities that are cold weather friendly and will allow you to cross a few items off of that list. Take a look:

indoor painting

Painting:

Painting can be done during any season! One reason people like to do it in the Spring or Summer is that it’s much better to paint with the windows open in your home, for ventilation purposes. However, painting is a physical activity that makes you work up a sweat, so you might find that you’re not that uncomfortable with the windows open after all.

Update a Backsplash:

If your kitchen is missing a backsplash accent piece, then it’s time to give it one! You can kick up the style in your kitchen, by adding a wide range of backsplash ideas. If you’re looking for something easy and doable, then check out this list of ideas.

Organize Your Closet:

Whether it’s a walk-in or a small hallway closet, you can organize it! This activity is perfect for the Winter weather, as it doesn’t require you to go outside at all (well, maybe to buy an organizational system). Make sure you remove any unwanted items and then add some structure to your closets!
